Brush your teeth properly

Five dental care tips

Brush your teeth at least twice a day; using interspace brushes, floss or dental sticks should be done once a day.
Don’t snack. After any acid attack your teeth need about an hour of recovery, add fluoride by using a toothpaste with fluoride, mouthwash and/or fluoride impregnated dental sticks, with regular use your teeth will become harder and stronger and thus better able to withstand the bacterial acid attack.
Important: Change the worn toothbrush in good time, but at the latest after one month!

Technology

The tooth brushing technique should be based on the individual circumstances of each person. A tooth brushing technique recommended by many dentists is the following: Hold the brush at an angle of 45 degrees against the gum line, gently shake the bristles, and then move or roll the brush away from the gum line toward the crown of the tooth. Brush the outside and inside of the teeth in this way. The chewing surfaces of the molars are brushed with short back and forth movements.

How to floss correctly!

Take a piece of dental floss about 40 cm long. Wrap the ends around the middle fingers of your hands. Pull a few inches taut between your thumb and index finger. Gently rub the floss between your teeth toward the gum line using back and forth motions. Move the dental tape back and forth between your teeth near the gum line very carefully so that you do not damage the gum tissue. Gently remove the floss using back and forth movements. Then rinse your mouth with water.

How do I clean the spaces between my teeth?

The best way to clean the spaces between your teeth is to use dental floss. This is particularly suitable for cleaning very narrow approximal spaces.

When? How often?

Thoroughly brush your teeth twice a day.

Proper tongue care

Why should you clean your tongue?

The surface of the tongue provides an ideal environment for bacteria. For this reason, a thick bacterial coating quickly forms there. Bad breath in particular, but also impaired taste and even overall health can be the result. If the tongue is not cleaned of the bacteria, they constantly contribute to the recolonization of the teeth after brushing. More and more experts are therefore calling for cleaning not only of the teeth, but also of the tongue.

What happens during a professional tongue cleaning at the dentist?

The dentist can make an accurate diagnosis of the cause of bad breath. To professionally clean the tongue, the dentist has the option of using a rotating brush attachment and a gel containing chlorhexidine.

Technique & Tips

Gently brush your tongue with the tongue cleaner to remove bacteria. A tongue cleaner prevents bad breath and removes bacterial plaque on the tongue. The slim shape of the tongue cleaner enables cleaning in the throat area, where bacteria colonization is greatest.

When? How often?
